Universal Declaration of Human Rights | A User's Manual
The project was to choose two Articles of Human Rights and create a statement that visualizes those rights. Also, a cover and page containing all articles. The size is portrait tabloid-facing pages. The articles I chose were Articles 15 and 19. Each design portrays what life would be like without the article in place.
Article 15 states, "Everyone has the right to a nationality. ..." I chose to show an altered copy of a citizenship document and was denied due to nationality.
Article 19 states, "Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; …." I chose to show the famous speech by Martin Luther King, 'I have a dream.' I blocked out all personal statements taking away the right of opinion and expression, and it completely changed the speech’s impact, which is why the article is in place, to have a voice.
